The Gabriola Health Care Foundation (GHCF) had a fantastic time at the recent Gabriola Volunteer Fire Department Open House. Volunteers Lu Lazzarotto, Kevin Crowley, Christina Rajsic and Julie Stewart spoke with visitors about the role of the Foundation, which is to help improve health care for all residents of Gabriola Island. Three of the Foundation’s main activities are, first, to own, operate and maintain the Gabriola Community Health Centre; second, to help recruit and retain doctors and other health-care providers; and third, to support the separately-run Gabriola Medical Clinic in a variety of ways.
