Join the Gabriola Health Care Foundation

Help support local health care and make a difference in our community. Membership is free and open to residents and property owners in the Gabriola area who are 19 or older.

In addition to getting our regular newsletter, being a member entitles you to vote at the Annual General Meeting and to stand for a Board or Committee position. We welcome the diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences, ages and abilities that people bring to our community.

Thank you for your interest in helping shape the future of health care on Gabriola.

The Gabriola Health Care Foundation (GHCF) owns and manages the Gabriola Community Health Centre. It works with community and health care partners to help ensure residents and visitors can get the care they need, now and in the future.

What does Board service involve?

Volunteer Board members help guide the Foundation’s strategic direction, provide governance and oversight, attend regular board meetings and support the Foundation’s mission. No previous board experience is required.

Board terms are 3 years. The Board meets monthly and members should expect to spend 3 to 4 hours on Board meetings. Each member of the Board is expected to participate on one of the board's Committees. The Committees meet once a month, and members are asked to make a monthly commitment of 3 to 4 hours on Committee work. We welcome the diverse backgrounds, cultures, experiences, ages and abilities that people bring to our community. A strong Board reflects the community it serves.

Before applying: The deadline for 2027 Board applications is September 18, 2026. You must be a member of the Gabriola Health Care Foundation. Membership is free. If you are not already a member, please complete the membership application before submitting this form.
