First Nation
The Community Health Centre, owned and operated by the Gabriola Health Care Foundation (“the Foundation”), is located on the unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw First Nation.
The Foundation acknowledges the value of Indigenous healing practices and is committed to learning from them. It also acknowledges that the health disparities created by the impact of colonization and indigenous-specific racism persist and it is committed to working to close the gaps in health-care outcomes by working directly with the Nation and others.
The Foundation is dedicated to increasing its intercultural competency, human rights awareness, and anti-racism efforts, thereby contributing to an inclusive and equitable health care environment for all community members.
