Supporting the 'Be Our Doctor' Campaign
Gabriola Clinic’s Be our Doctor campaign is supported by GHCF’s Recruitment and Retention Committee which carries out the following activities:
Developing, maintaining, and updating the Be Our Doctor website where prospective health-care professionals can learn about the Clinic and the community, encouraging them to choose Gabriola for their practice
Advertising through the Gabriola Chamber of Commerce’s visitor map, Family Physicians of BC, and social media
Finding short-term accommodation for visiting doctors, and assisting new doctors to find long-term accommodations
Hosting events for medical residents that will encourage them to engage in practical training at the Gabriola Medical Clinic
What you can do to help
Please take a moment to:
- Recognize our health-care professionals with a Sounder smile.
- Thank our health-care team on Facebook community pages.
- Provide or help find accommodation for locums, so our doctors can take a break. Contact ghcf@ghcf.ca if you have guest quarters or a vacant property.
- If you know any doctors or medical students, direct their attention to Gabriola Clinic’s Be our Doctor campaign.
- Visit our website beourdoctor.ca regularly to keep up to date on our progress and new ways you can show your support.
- Best, and easiest of all, consider donating to the Gabriola Health Care Foundation to assist us with recruitment and retention.
